Manchester United youngster rejects new deal to join Preston

Manchester United have announced Josh Harrop will join Championship outfit Preston when his contract expires next month.

Harrop was handed his full United debut by Jose Mourinho on the final day of the Premier League season and the 21-year-old only required 15 minutes before opening the scoring in a 2-0 win.

United had offered Harrop a contract extension but the striker has made the commendable decision to seek first team football elsewhere and sign for Preston.

Harrop finished last season as the top goalscorer for the United reserves (10 goals). He will now be competing for places up front with the likes of Jordan Hugill and Callum Robinson for Preston, who will be looking to improve on their midtable finish last season.
