Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has confirmed Valencia full-back Joao Cancelo will undergo his medical with the club on Monday.
Cancelo was in tears after Valencia’s 1-0 win over Las Palmas on Friday evening, which has now transpired to be his final appearance for the club.
The Portugal international is set to join Inter with Geoffrey Kondogbia going to the other way in a season-long loan deal with Los Che.
“We know our transfer strategy,” Football Italia quote Ausilio as saying ahead of their match with Fiorentina on Sunday evening.
“The team is more or less this for the whole season. Cancelo? Tomorrow there will be a medical. There will be a loan exchange with respective options to buy with Valencia, for Cancelo and Kondogbia.”
Cancelo has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham in the wake of Kyle Walker’s £50m move to Manchester City, but the Premier League outfit will need to find an alternative in the transfer market.
Since the start of last season, only Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis (74) and Theo Hernandez (65) have completed more dribbles than Cancelo (64) of all defenders in La Liga.
