Chelsea teammate could follow Oscar to China

Oscar hasn’t even officially completed his staggering £60m move to China and Chelsea could be set to lose another player to the riches of the Far East, with Cesc Fabregas in their sights, reports The Daily Mail.

Fabregas, 29, has dropped down the pecking order under Antonio Conte at Chelsea but has knuckled down and worked hard to get back into contention under the Italian this season.

The Spain international has provided decisive moments in recent weeks for Chelsea but has received interest from Guangzhou Evergrande, who are currently managed by Luiz Felipe Scolari.

The former Chelsea manager wanted to bring Oscar to the current Chinese Super League champions but has seemingly moved his attentions to Fabregas with Shanghai SIPG on the verge of wrapping up a sensational deal to sign Oscar.

With Oscar on the verge of leaving, Chelsea will not want to lose another central midfielder in January, although an offer of £40m could tempt Conte’s side into selling the former Arsenal midfielder, who has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal.

In the last three Premier League campaigns Fabregas has registered more assists than any other player (27).
