Bournemouth have announced they have re-signed Asmir Begovic after having a £10m bid for the Chelsea goalkeeper accepted.
Eddie Howe’s side reignited their interest in the Chelsea No.2 after failing to secure his services in the January transfer window.
The Premier League champions failed to find a replacement in time before sanctioning Begovic’s move to Bournemouth but the Cherries have finally signed their man at the second attempt.
Begovic, who endured a loan spell at Bournemouth in 2007, has spent the last has spent the last two years at Chelsea after joining from the Potters in a deal worth £8m in 2015 but has spent the time as Thibaut Courtois’ understudy.
The 29-year-old is a significant upgrade on current Bournemouth No.1 Artur Boruc and is an early indication of Howe’s intentions in the summer transfer window.
In fact, no player has committed more errors that have directly led to an opposition goal in the last two Premier League campaigns than Boruc (7).
