LIGUE 1 PREVIEW: PSG begin their title parade

Paris Saint-Germain wrapped up the Ligue 1 title in record time and will be able to prioritise their squad for the Champions League from now on. They will, however, want to triumph against second placed Monaco on Sunday.

Laurent Blanc’s side are unbeaten in their last six against Monaco and haven’t conceded in their last three, since Anthony Martial scored a stoppage time equaliser in October 2014. The Parisien outfit have are also unbeaten at home this season.

However, while PSG’s position as the No.1 ranked side in France is secured, the same cannot be said for Monaco. Defeat for Leonardo Jardim’s side would allow Nice, who host relegation-threatened Ajaccio, to move within two points, which would add some spice to the conclusion of the season, with a place in the Champions League on offer.

Victory is not a foregone conclusion for Nice, however. Ajaccio are unbeaten in their last four and are now only in the drop zone because of their inferior head-to-head record with Reims.

However, before all of this happens, Marseille will host Rennes as their search for their first home win in Ligue 1 enters its sixth month. Michel’s have endured an awful campaign and are in midtable. They have drawn their last five matches in a row and will struggle to beat a Rennes side that have performed better on the road (24 points) than at home this season (21 points).
