Manchester United prepare lucrative offer for Saul Niguez
Manchester United are ready to hand Saul Niguez a huge pay rise in order to prise the midfielder from Atletico Madrid this summer, reports The Sun.
Saul has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent years and United are finally ready to pull the trigger on their long-standing interest.
The Spain international's current Atletico £115,000-a-week deal is not due to expire until the summer of 2026 after he remarkably penned a nine-year deal back in 2017.
There is a £132M release clause in Saul's current contract but United are hopeful of securing the midfielder's services for around £70M this summer.
With Paul Pogba expected to leave United for either Real Madrid or Juventus at the end of the season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bolster his midfield options.
United are even prepared to offer Saul a huge advance on his current salary by tabling a blockbuster contract worth £200,000-a-week.
The 25-year-old isn't so much a regular goalscorer but when he does find the back of the net it tends to be an important goal. In fact, all 10 of his Champions League goals have been the opening goal of the game.
