Manchester United have confirmed they have cut short Adnan Januzaj’s loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.
Januzaj joined Dortmund on a season-long loan deal at the start of the campaign but the starlet has struggled to break into Thomas Tuchel’s first team.
Louis van Gaal’s decision to let Januzaj go raised eye-brows and he will still face an uncertain future when he returns to Old Trafford, but it should still give the Dutchman greater depth and options for the second half of the season.
The 20-year-old creator was restricted to just 160 minutes of action in the Bundesliga in the first half of the season, spread across six substitute appearances. He was afforded more playing time in the Europa League with three of his five appearances coming as a starter, however.
