Middlesbrough are not looking to sell Rudy Gestede amid interest from Championship rivals Leeds, reports Gazette Live.
Leeds have earmarked Gestede as a top transfer target as they look to find a replacement for Chris Wood, who joined Burnley for £15m on Monday.
The Championship side have even reportedly bid £6m for the Benin international but Middlesbrough are now encouraging any interest from Leeds despite being well-stocked in attack.
Garry Monk’s see have signed three strikers this summer and spent more than £30m to bring Britt Assombalonga, Martin Braithwaite and Ashley Fletcher to Riverside.
Despite that, Gestede has started three of Middlesbrough’s four league games this season and is currently their highest rated player (7.31).
However, the 28-year-old has been playing on the left of a front three and a move to Leeds would enable him to be the vocal point of their attack.
Since August 2013, no player has scored more headed goals in the Championship than Gestede (21), who spent one year in the Premier League during that period.
