West Ham are working on a third contract offer for Declan Rice to secure his long-term future, claims The Sun.
The Hammers have already fallen short with two proposals with Rice in no rush to extend his stay at the club.
Rice still has three years left to run on his current deal, with an option to a fourth, and is aware of strong interest from former club Chelsea and Manchester United.
David Moyes' side would like to put any doubts about Rice's future to bed and hope to get his signature down with improved terms.
West Ham have sold Felipe Anderson back to Lazio for just £5m but in doing so have crucially freed up his sizeable wages.
Anderson was taking home in excess of £100,000-a-week but after a promising first season at the club he has been a huge disaster.
The 28-year-old even spent a chunk of last season on loan at FC Porto where he only started onc league game.
West Ham now plan to use a portion of Anderson's wages to top-up their contract offer for Rice and make him one of the best-paid players in the club's history.
Rice has impressively started 112 of West Ham's last 122 league matches and started all seven of England's matches en route to the Euro 2020 final.
The 22-year-old saved his best WhoScored rated performance of the tournament for the final (7.50).
