Stones eyes release clause in next contract

Everton defender John Stones is willing to pen a new deal at Goodison Park on the condition a £38m release clause is inserted into his contract, reports The Daily Mail.

Stones, 22, was subject of four bid from Premier League champions Chelsea over the summer and the England international saw his transfer request turned down by the Merseyside club.

The former Barnsley defender is reportedly willing to negotiate a new deal with Everton but only if Roberto Martinez’s side agree to insert a clause that will allow him to talk to other clubs if a bid of £38m is lodged.

Despite looking to force through his move to Chelsea, Stones has oozed professionalism on the pitch and has shown little signs of being effected.
