Melo angling for Inter move

Galatasaray midfielder Felipe Melo believes a return to Italy is best for his family after growing unsettled in Turkey.

The former Juventus player has spent the last four years at Galatasaray, winning the league title in three of those campaigns. However, he is now looking to return to Italy and has publicly expressed his desire to join Inter.

“If I could go to Inter it would be best for me,” Melo is quoted as saying in Hurriyet.

“My family are not happy in Turkey, they don’t want to stay here. It’s a nice place, but we’ve found it difficult here.

“Before I wear a shirt, my family must be convinced, but if I don’t find an agreement with another club then I’ll stay here.

“As long as I’m here I’ll give everything for this shirt.”

The 32-year-old’s performances last season were good enough to gain his best WhoScored rating over the last six season (7.39), which was only matched by one of his Galatasaray teammates in the league.
