Arsenal close to agreeing record sale of homegrown star
Fulham are close to reaching an agreement with Arsenal to sign attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe, reports The Athletic.
Fulham had previously had a £30 million bid rejected by the Gunners for the 23-year-old, but are now said to be close to striking a deal worth up to £35 million.
A transfer of that size would represent a record signing for Fulham, and a joint-record sale for Arsenal.
After breaking into the first-team under Mikel Arteta in 2020/21 and 2021/22, Smith Rowe then failed to make a Premier League start in the 2022/23 campaign.
Last season, the former RB Leipzig and Huddersfield loanee made 13 league appearances for the Gunners, with just three of those coming as starts.
