David Moyes keen on bringing Fiorentina forward to West Ham
West Ham boss David Moyes is looking into the prospect of signing Fiorentina forward Khouma Babacar as he strives to bolster his attack, reports the Sun.
With Diafra Sakho and Chicharito expected to be sold this month, Moyes is wary about being left short in the final third and is looking to add another forward before deadline day in order to ease the striking burden on Andy Carroll
Babacar has now emerged as a viable option for the Hammers boss, with the 24-year-old out of favour at Fiorentina.
The Senegal international has made 15 league appearances for the Viola this season, all from the bench, and has scored four Serie A goals, more than any other substitute in Italy’s top tier.
Moyes is now hoping to resurrect his career in east London, with Chicharito a target for MLS expansion side Los Angeles FC and Sakho attracting interest from Crystal Palace.
A run of one defeat in West Ham’s last eight has moved the Hammers away from the relegation zone and up into 11th in the Premier League, with Moyes overseeing a 4-1 win at Huddersfield on Saturday.
