Leicester City have confirmed the signing of midfielder Vicente Iborra from La Liga outfit Sevilla.
The 29-year-old Spaniard made only 12 league starts for Sevilla last season and has penned a four-year deal at the King Power Stadium.
“Leicester City Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Vicente Iborra from Spanish side Sevilla for an undisclosed fee,” a statement read on the club’s official website.
“The 29-year-old defensive midfielder has put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal at King Power Stadium, having been with the La Liga side since 2013 – including two appearances against the Foxes in last season’s UEFA Champions League.
“As a consistent and influential performer, Iborra’s four seasons in Sevilla saw him lift the UEFA Europa League trophy on no less than three occasions, while clocking up more than 170 appearances across all competitions.
“Iborra becomes Leicester City’s second signing of the summer, following the addition of Harry Maguire from Hull City last month and will link up with his new team-mates ahead of a pre-season training camp in Austria next week.”

On his move to Leicester, Iborra said: “I’m very happy to be here with Leicester City and I’m looking forward to experiencing the Premier League with my new team-mates next season. Everything about this Club seems good and it’s been great to meet my new team-mates. I’ve already spoken with them about the city and the Club so I can’t wait to get started.”
Head coach Craig Shakespeare added: “I’m absolutely delighted that Vicente has joined us. He’s player with such a good pedigree from his time in Spain with Sevilla and he adds some really strong competition to our squad.”
Only Ivan Rakitic (8) scored more goals than Iborra (7) of all central midfielders in Spain’s top tier last term, while he is one of only two players, along with Kevin Gameiro, to have scored a hat-trick as a substitute in the last eight La Liga seasons.
