Spurs target stalling on contract talks

West Brom striker Saido Berahino has put the brakes on signing a new deal with the Baggies as doubt over his future continues to rumble on, according to the Daily Mail.

Berahino, 22, tried and failed to push through a move to Spurs over the summer and was forced to track back on claims that insisted he would never play for West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace.

Tony Pulis’ side are hoping to get the England U21 international to put pen to paper on a bumper £50,000-a-week deal to deter any bids in the January transfer window, but Berahino is reportedly stalling on the deal.

Tottenham are likely to rekindle their interest in the West Brom striker to bolster their push for a top four finish in January.

Since emerging into the West Brom first-team in the 2013/14 campaign, Berahino has scored at least 16 more goals than any of his teammates in the Premier League (22).
