Petr Cech’s agent has ruled out suggestions the goalkeeper could leave Arsenal at the end of the season.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was forced to deny claims he was interested in making a £15m move for Manchester City outcast Joe Hart earlier in the week following Cech’s underwhelming performances this season.
Cech, 33, has two-and-a-half years remaining on the deal he signed when he joined Arsenal from Chelsea at the start of last season and his agent, Viktor Kolar, insists his client is going no where this summer.
“Petr’s position at the club is very secure and a summer transfer can be ruled out,” the Daily Star quote him as telling Czech reporters. “Petr will be part of Arsenal until at least the end of his current contract and I am convinced that he will continue to have a leadership role in the team.”
Of goalkeepers to have made more than 20 appearances in the last two Premier League campaigns only two have a better save success rate than Cech (75%).
