Juventus have confirmed they have appointed Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri on a three-year deal running until 2022.
The Old Lady sacked Massimiliano Allegri at the end of last season and have been working hard to find his replacement.
Juventus have been heavily linked with a blockbuster move for Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola in recent months.
The City boss is thought to have rejected the chance to manage Juventus from next season despite the fact the Serie A champions were willing to offer him €20m a year to leave England.
Juventus have been in talks with Chelsea in the last few weeks to negotiate Sarri’s exit from Stamford Bridge after just one season at the club.
The former Napoli boss won the Europa League and took Chelsea to the League Cup final in his sole campaign but never had a relationship with the supporters.
Juventus have reportedly agreed to pay in excess of £5m to prise Sarri away from Chelsea, though his appointment has drawn polarising opinions.
In order for Sarri to be successful he needs to be given time to implement his philosophy and that is not what some of Juventus’ players have.
Their best player, Cristiano Ronaldo, will turn 35 midway through next season and Juventus have certainly gambled on Sarri’s appointment.
Juventus have won Serie A eight years in a row but winning the Champions League has proved illusive for the Italian outfit, last lifting the European Cup in 1996.
