Arsenal tracking Juventus defender

Arsenal are monitoring the progress of Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, according to Calciomercato.

The Premier League outfit were reportedly interested in signing Rugani over the summer, but saw their attempts rebuffed by the Serie A champions.

However, Arsenal could rekindle their interest in the Italy U21 international following reports suggesting Arsene Wenger sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old play against Slovenia’s U21s.

Rugani, who made the switch from Empoli to Juventus over the summer, is still awaiting his debut for the reigning Serie A champions.

The Juve defender featured three times for Italy during the Euro U21 Championship over the summer and only Sweden’s Isaac Thelin (7.4) finishing the tournament having won more aerial duels per game than Rugani (5).
