Victor Lindelof has rubbished suggestions he is keen to join Barcelona this season following comments made by the Manchester United defender’s agent.
Lindelof’s agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, revealed his client is on the radar of a big European club amid suggestions Barcelona are keen on the 23-year-old.
The Sweden international has endured two turbulent years at United but the former Benfica defender insists he is happy at Old Trafford.
“I’m very, very happy to be a Manchester United player,” ESPN quote Lindelof as saying on United’s pre-season tour of Australia.
“I’m excited for the new season to start. That's my answer. I’m very happy here.”
Lindelof was arguably United’s most improved player last season after a nightmare debut campaign for the club.
United made Lindelof the club’s most expensive ever centre-back to sign him from Benfica in the summer of 2017 in a deal worth as much as £35m.
After starting just 13 league matches in his first season at the club, Lindelof started 29 league matches last term.
In fact, only Paul Pogba (3012) featured in more minutes playing time in the Premier League than Lindelof (2602) of United outfielders last season.
