Leicester turn to Russia for new striker

Leicester City are in talks with CSKA Moscow to sign Ahmed Musa after ending their interest in Sampdoria striker Eder, according to Sky Sports.

The Foxes have been forced to look at alternative transfer targets with Inter poised to sign Eder and are now hopeful of concluding a deal for Musa before the transfer window shuts on Monday.

Claudio Ranieri has been keen to bolster his offensive options and ease the goalscoring burden on Jamie Vardy and has seemingly earmarked £19m-rated Musa as the man to help maintain their title challenge.

The Premier League leaders are expected to encounter competition from a host of clubs across Europe, including Manchester United, for the 23-year-old’s signature.

Leicester turn to Russia for new striker

The CSKA Moscow forward, who can play out wide and through the middle, has scored six goals in 18 league appearances this season and featured in every Champions League group stage match for the Russian outfit earlier in the campaign.

However, no player has missed more clear-cut chances in the Russian Premier League this season than Musa (9).
