Andreas Christensen will remain on loan with Borussia Monchengladbach for another season, reports the London Evening Standard.
The Danish centre-back is highly thought off by Chelsea, with his performances helping return a WhoScored rating of 7.04 in the Bundesliga this season.
Gladbach had been keen to retain the defender's services and they appear to have had their wish granted, with the teenage defender expected to remain at the club for at least another campaign.
While the German side would gladly welcome the opportunity to sign Christensen permanently, Chelsea would unlikely sanction his sale, such is his potential.
Nevertheless, he's expected to remain at Borussia Park for a third successive season, according to the club's sporting director Max Eberl.
"He has developed great and a lot of clubs are interested in him, but he will definitely play for Gladbach next season," he said.
