PSG eye move for Atletico forward

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Atletico Madrid forward Yannick Carrasco as they seek cover for Edinson Cavani, reports AS.

The Ligue 1 champions are keen to sign another offensive option following Cavani’s recent injury scare and have reportedly earmarked Carrasco as a potential option in January.

Unai Emery’s side signed Spanish striker Jese in the summer but the ex-Real Madrid forward has underwhelmed this season and PSG are already looking for replacements.

Carrasco, 23, has enjoyed a superb start to the season for Diego Simeone’s side and only signed a new contract keeping him at Atletico until 2022 last month, which includes a staggering €100m (£88m) release clause.

In 11 La Liga appearances this season Carrasco has already scored more goals (5) than he managed in 29 appearances last term (4).
