Leicester ace still wants to play for Premier League giant

Jamie Vardy has revealed he is still open to offers from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs despite turning down Arsenal 12 months ago.

The England international came very close to joining Arsenal after helping Leicester win the Premier League in 2016 before opting to sign a new long-term deal with the Foxes.

Arsenal went on to win the FA Cup last season whereas Leicester struggled for the majority of the campaign, but Vardy has no regrets over snubbing the Gunners.

However, the 30-year-old insists turning down Arsenal doesn’t mean he wouldn’t consider leaving Leicester for a big club again, leaving the door open to a high profile move in the future.

“I want to win as much as possible, I don’t want to only have one Premier League medal in my drawer at home – it would be an empty glass cabinet” Vardy told The Daily Telegraph. “I want to win as much as possible. I’m contract to Leicester and we will see how high we can go. In the future, who knows?

“It was my choice to turn Arsenal down. But if another offer came in, it would be the same in that I would look at it and work out the pros and cons. But, no, turning down Arsenal doesn’t mean I wouldn’t look at another offer.

“Down the road, there might be an opportunity to go to America or China. It would be something I would like to experience. I’ve seen other players do it. I know it will involve moving the family again, but it will give them a different experience to see different cultures.”

In the last three Premier League campaigns, Vardy has won at least three more penalties than any other player (8).
