Koscielny set for new four-year deal

Laurent Koscielny is on the verge of signing a new four-year deal keeping him at Arsenal until at least 2020, reports L’Equipe, via The Sun.

Arsenal are keen to tie down the best remaining years of one of the Premier League’s best defenders, with his current deal due to expire in 2019.

Arsene Wenger does not usually look to offer new deals to players over the age of 30, but Koscielny’s reported new deal would take him through to his 35th birthday and mean he has been at the club for a decade, having joined from French side Lorient in 2010.

Since the start of last season only France teammate N’Golo Kante (190) has completed more interceptions in the Premier League than Koscielny (158).
