Juventus line up Allegri replacement

Juventus have made outgoing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini their number one choice to succeed Massimiliano Allegri if he leaves to join Chelsea in the summer, reports ESPN.

Pellegrini will be out of work at the end of the season with Pep Guardiola set to replace him at Manchester City and the 62-year-old is targeting one big job before returning to his native Chile to coach the national team.

The Serie A reigning champions are reluctant to allow Allegri to leave this summer, but have already put contingency plans in place if they are unable to keep the Italian in Turin, with Pellegrini at the top of the list to replace him.

Since replacing Roberto Mancini as the City manager in the summer of 2013, Pellegrini has an impressive win ratio of 63.7%, although he is enjoying his worst patch as City boss, having lost three games in a row for the first time.

Moreover, only Jose Mourinho has won more times in his first 100 Premier League matches (73) than Pellegrini managed (65).
