Tottenham star suffers fresh injury blow

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed Mousa Dembele has suffered a fresh injury in training.

Dembele, 29, has developed into one of Tottenham’s most important players under Pochettino since the start of last season, but has only managed 74 minutes of action in all competitions this season.

The Belgium international missed the first four matches through suspension and Pochettino has revealed Dembele will now face a further spell on the sideline having just returned from a hamstring injury that kept him out for almost a month.

“He had a minor problem in his hamstring against Sunderland. Then it was good but he got a knock in his foot, an old problem, and now he’s recovering from that,” TalkSPORT quote Pochettino as saying.

“It was in training. It’s minor but it’s painful for him. When he touches the ball, it’s painful for him.”

Of players to have attempted at least 30 dribbles in the Premier League since the start of last season Dembele has done so with the greatest success (91.5%).
