Arsenal defender jets in to Valencia for summer switch
Arsenal defender Gabriel has flown to Valencia to complete a £10m move to the Spanish giants, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Arsene Wenger is keen to sell off some of the fringe players in the Arsenal squad in what should be a busy few weeks at the club in regards to potential outgoings.
Gabriel dropped below Rob Holding in the pecking order towards the end of last season and now, with Per Mertesacker also back fit, the Brazilian has been given the green light to complete a return to Spain.
The 26-year-old is currently recovering from knee ligament injury but is still expected to join Valencia, where he will be re-united with Marcelino, who managed him at Villarreal prior to his move to Arsenal in January 2015.
Since his arrival, Arsenal actually boost a better win ratio (62.2%) in the Premier League with Gabriel in the starting XI, compared to when the fiery Brazilian has not been picked (57.6%).
