Chicharito’s Leverkusen future unclear

Javier Hernandez has refused to confirm whether he will stay at Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

The Mexican striker enjoyed a hugely impressive debut campaign for the German outfit, netting 17 league goals, the fourth best return in Germany’s top tier last season.

Chicharito’s Leverkusen future unclear

His good form for Bayer Leverkusen has attracted interest from a host of top teams across Europe, with the Bundesliga giants understandably keen to retain the striker’s services.

However, Chicharito, who has a contract with the club until 2018, admits he is unsure as to whether he will remain at the club, pointing to previous experiences with summer switches in 2014 and 2015.

“You never know in football. In the last two years I have changed [teams] on the last day of the transfer window. I thought that I was going to stay in Madrid. I also thought that I was going to stay in Manchester. I then I ended up at Leverkusen,” the 28-year-old told Marca via Sky Sports.
