Marseille make Cabella’s switch permanent

Newcastle United midfielder Remy Cabella says Marseille have exercised the option to make his loan switch permanent, according to French newspaper La Provence, via Get French Football.

Cabella, 25, is currently on loan with Michel’s team having struggled to adapt to the Premier League in his two years at Newcastle.

And it would now appear the France international will not return to Newcastle at the end of the season after Marseille activated their right to make the deal permanent.

“Normally, I should [be staying]. The option has been activated, I am very happy to be at Marseille, a club that I wanted to come to for a long time. I will do everything to go as far as possible with this club," Cabella is quoted as saying.

Marseille make Cabella’s switch permanent

Cabella has been one of Marseille’s most creative players this season, so it is not surprising they have already come to this decision. In fact, only Abdel Barrada (49) has created more chances for his Marseille teammates in the league this season (38).
