West Ham ready to go all out to sign Inter’s Joao Mario

West Ham have re-opened negotiations with Inter for the loan signing of Joao Mario, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Hammers emerged as unlikely suitors for the Portugal international at the start of the month but talks broke down with David Moyes’ side unwilling to match Inter’s demands.

However, now West Ham have made a stunning u-turn and are now ready to cover Mario’s full salary for the remainder of the season and pay Inter a €1.5m (£1.3m) loan fee.

West Ham will also have the option to make Mario’s loan switch permanent at the end of the season in a deal worth around €30m (£26.4m).

Discussions are set to continue over the next week but the east London outfit are hopeful of securing Mario’s signature despite the fact the midfielder was previously unsure on a move.

Inter announced the arrival of Barcelona midfielder Rafinha on Monday evening to all but confirm Mario has no future at the club, just 18 months after he became their second most expensive player of all-time €40m (£35.1m).

The 25-year-old has only started five Serie A games this season, failing to live up to the billing since his arrival in 2016. With a transfer likely to happen this month, it’s worth investing in the Inter No.10 on Football INDEX. His current share price is £0.88 and set to soar when speculation intensifies.
