Norwich sign Schalke goalkeeper Fahrmann on loan

Norwich have completed the signing of Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann on a season-long loan deal, the Premier League outfit has announced.

Fahrmann has moved to Norwich after dropping down the pecking order at Schalke last season.

The 30-year-old had been first choice at Schalke for a number of years but lost his place in the team to Alexander Nubel in February.

Nubel was a key man for Germany at the U21 European Championships this summer, as they made it all the way to the final where they lost to Spain.

The 22-year-old will be Schalke’s undisputed first-choice goalkeeper next season, while Fahrmann will now compete with Tim Krul at Norwich.

Daniel Farke hs completed his second raid of the Bundesliga this summer after landing Josip Drmic on a free transfer from Gladbach earlier in the window.

Since August 2016, only one goalkeeper has committed more errors leading to an opposition goal in the Bundesliga than Fahrmann (7).
