Chelsea will begin negotiations with Roma for defender Antonio Rudiger on Wednesday, according to La Repubblica, via Football Italia.
Incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is expected to raid Serie A as he looks to transform Chelsea’s squad over the summer and the Blues have already been linked to a number of players currently plying in Italy’s top-flight.
Rudiger, 23, is currently on loan at Roma from Stuttgart but the Giallorossi have an €9m (£7.2m) option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season, which they are expected to match before selling on for €20m (£16m).
The Germany international, who started against England in their recent encounter, has featured in 24 matches for Roma this season.
