Tottenham have announced versatile defender Eric Dier has signed a new five-year deal keeping him at the club until at least July 2020.
Dier, 22, only signed for the club last summer, but has been in impressive form during the early stages of this season and has seen his form rewarded by the north London outfit.
The former Sporting Lisbon defender has the abilty to play in a number of positions across the backline, but it has been in central midfielder where he has emerged under Mauricho Pochettino this season in the Premier League.
In fact, of players to have taken part in all four of Spurs’ league games this season, only two players have gained a higher WhoScored rating than Dier (7.0).
