Former Manchester United manager in frame for vacant Swansea post

Former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is one of the candidates being considered by Swansea to succeed Paul Clement, reports The Daily Mirror

Swansea announced their decision to sack Clement on Wednesday night and want to appoint his replacement as quickly as possible.

Tony Pulis has been heavily linked with the job but the former West Brom manager is not being considered by Swansea at this time.

Instead, the Premier League strugglers are eyeing an audacious move for Van Gaal, who has not managed since being sacked by United in May 2016.

The 66-year-old has already admitted he would like to manage another Premier League side just to beat United and now Swansea have earmarked him as a possible target.

Swansea are also interested in speaking with Slaven Bilic and Ronald Koeman, who were both sacked by Premier League clubs this season.

The Welsh outfit are currently rock bottom of the Premier League and four points adrift of safety. Only West Brom (2) have won fewer matches than Swansea (3) this far.
