Montpellier frontman on West Ham manager's radar

West Ham have turned their attention to Montpellier frontman Gaetan Laborde in a bid to bolster their attack this month, reports The Teleraph.

The Hammers are in the market for a new striker in the January window following the sale of Sebastien Haller to Ajax.

A host of forwards have been linked with a move to the London Stadium this month, including Bournemouth's Josh King and Reims forward Boulaye Dia.

And Laborde is another who has cropped on West Ham's radar with the east London side looking to strike a deal with Montpellier for the 26-year-old.

Teammate Andy Delort has been hogging the limelight this season on account of his good form in front of goal, netting nine times and providing six assists, but Laborde has quietly gone about his business in Ligue 1 this season, having had a direct hand in 12 goals, scoring six, for the French side in 2020/21.

Central midfielder Tomas Soucek is currently West Ham's top goalscorer having netted five times in the Premier League this season, which speaks volumes of the Hammers' need to land another striker this month.
