Arsenal defender out for a month

Arsenal are set to be without Hector Bellerin for up to six matches after the right-back suffered ankle ligament damage, reports International Business Times.

Bellerin, 21, has emerged as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League in the last two seasons but is now set to miss a busy period for Arsenal.

The Spain international has reportedly been carrying the ankle injury for the last few weeks and it was aggravated in a tackle with Danny Rose in Arsenal’s North London Derby against Tottenham last weekend.

Bellerin had travelled to join up with Spain’s U21 squad for a double European Championship playoff qualifier against Austria, but has now returned back to London after test results revealed Arsene Wenger’s worst fears.

Not only has Bellerin now been ruled out of Arsenal’s huge Premier League clash against Manchester United, the former Barcelona academy graduate, who is poised to sign a new six-year deal, will also miss matches against Bournemouth and Southampton, as well as their pivotal Champions League fixture against Paris Saint-Germain.

No defender has completed more dribbles in the last two Premier League campaigns than Bellerin (82).
