Real Madrid star issues ultimatum

Real Madrid left-back Marcelo has threatened to quit the La Liga and European champions if they decide to sell Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, according to Don Balon.

Reports last week suggested that the Portugal international is prepared to quit Real Madrid during the transfer window, which put Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United on red alert.

Los Blancos supremo Florentino Perez insists that the 32-year-old will not be sold this summer, but speculation over a potential Bernabeu departure remains high.

And now Marcelo has issued an ultimatum to the club, threatening to leave if Ronaldo is sold.

Real Madrid star issues ultimatum

The 29-year-old Brazil international, who registered more assists (10) than any other defender in Europe’s top five leagues last season, four of which were for a Ronaldo goal, is one of a number of Real Madrid players striving to convince the Real Madrid star to stay in the Spanish capital.

It was rumoured that Ronaldo would be allowed to leave to free up funds and wages for the the signing of Kylian Mbappe from Monaco, though Perez has supposedly assured the Portuguese forward that this isn’t the case.
