Hull winger out for a month

Hull City’s ambitions of avoiding relegation have been dealt a blow as they will be without Robert Snodgrass for the next month due to injury.

Snodgrass, 29, has featured in all nine of Hull’s Premier League games this season and is their current top goalscorer.

The Scotland international left the KCOM Stadium wearing a protective boot and on crutches after slipping to their fifth straight defeat in the Premier League when they lost 2-0 to Stoke.

“Scans have confirmed that Robert Snodgrass sustained ankle ligament damage during Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Stoke City,” a statement read on Hull’s website.

“The Scottish international is expected to be ruled out for up to four weeks.”

Snodgrass’ injury means he will miss Hull’s League Cup match against Bristol City, but more damaging he could miss up to four Premier League matches, as well as Scotland’s World Cup qualifier against England.

Snodgrass has scored three of the eight goals Hull have scored in the Premier League this season and his absence could prove detrimental to their chances of avoiding the drop.
