Manchester United have confirmed that David de Gea is travelling with squad for their pre-season tour of the US after it had been reported he was told to ‘get a deal done in the next 24 hours’ or he would be staying at the club next season, according to The Sun.
This news could could be a real blow to Real Madrid, who are looking to bolster their ranks with a new first choice goalkeeper after the sale of Iker Casillas to FC Porto.
Van Gaal has claimed that he wishes to only use players who will definitely be staying at the club this coming season for the upcoming tour of the States, so De Gea's future could yet lie at Old Trafford.
De Gea still supposedly wants to move to the Spanish giants, however, and United could be willing to let him go following the announcement that Victor Valdes wishes to stay at the club.
United are thought to be unwilling to let De Gea leave without getting Sergio Ramos as part of the deal, with the keeper having seemingly had a £32.6m price tag put on his head.
Over the last four seasons, De Gea has made 131 Premier League appearances and kept 46 clean sheets.
