Barcelona have signed Guangzhou Evergrande midfielder Paulinho in a deal worth £36.5m, reports The Daily Mail.
The La Liga champions have been chasing Paulinho’s signature all summer and have now completed a deal for the former Tottenham midfielder.
Barcelona failed with an opening offer of £17m earlier in the summer and were told they only way they could sign the Brazil international was by triggering his €40m release clause, which they have now done.
Paulinho has resurrected his career since leaving Tottenham to move to China in 2015 after being deemed one of the worst transfers in recent Premier League history.
In the last two Chinese Super League campaigns, Paulinho has won possession in the middle third more times than any other player (233).
