Liverpool sensation wins fans' player of the year award

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has won the PFA fans’ 2017/18 Premier League player of the year award, his fifth such accolade of the season.

The Egyptian beat David De Gea, Kevin De Bruyne, Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling and Eden Hazard to the award having earned a whopping 89% of the votes.

Salah scored more goals (32) than any other player in England’s top tier this term and his fine form saw him earn four PFA fans’ Premier League of the month awards this season.

To go with his player of the year accolade, Salah also earned the PFA players’ player of the year, FWA footballer of the year, Premier League player of the season and Liverpool fans and players’ player of the year awards.

It caps off a fine debut domestic campaign for Liverpool for the 25-year-old, who will now hope to fire the Reds to Champions League glory as the Merseyside outfit gear up for their final meeting with Real Madrid in Ukraine next weekend.

Regardless, Salah can rightly be considered the signing of the season having thrived for Liverpool after his arrival from Roma last summer.
