Tim Sherwood has made his sixth signing of the summer after completing a deal in the region of €12m (£8.56m) for Lorient winger Jordan Ayew, the Premier League club has announced.
Ayew is the first signing made by the club in the wake of Christian Benteke’s £32.5m departure last week, with the former Marseille winger signing a five-year deal at Villa Park.
"I'm really pleased to bring Jordan to the football club," Villa boss Sherwood told the club's official club website. "He's a fantastic young player who is perfectly suited to the Premier League."
The 23-year-old, who only moved to Lorient last summer, finished the Ligue 1 campaign with a direct hand in 17 goals (12 goals and five assists) – the most of any Lorient player.
