Arsenal have rekindled their interest in Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser after being priced out of a move for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, claims The Daily Mirror.
The Gunners have had a £40m bid for Zaha knocked back by their Premier League rivals and Palace value the Ivory Coast international at around double that price.
Zaha’s representatives have asked Palace to sanction a dream move to Arsenal but Roy Hodgson’s side are under no pressure to sell the 26-year-old as he has four years left on his current deal.
Arsenal are working off a restricted budget this summer and Palace’s firm stance has forced the north London outfit to reconsider their options.
Unai Emery is desperate to sign a new winger this summer and has now turned his attention back to Fraser, who they pursued at the start of the window.
Fraser was a revelation for Bournemouth last season and is keen to join one of the Premier League’s top-six this summer.
The Scotland international has just one year left to run on his current Bournemouth deal and has already resisted the club’s offer of a new deal.
Bournemouth issued a statement earlier this summer insisting Fraser would remain at the club and the 25-year-old has even conceded a move away is unlikely.
However, Bournemouth still face the prospect of missing out of in the region of £25m this summer and losing Fraser for nothing next summer.
Fraser played a direct hand in 21 league goals for Bournemouth last season, while only Eden Hazard (15) registered more assists than the Scotsman (14) in Europe’s top five leagues.
