Chelsea target confirms talks

Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has revealed he has already held talks with new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte over a summer switch.

The Belgium international has been earmarked as Conte’s No.1 transfer target this summer and Chelsea have reportedly already had a bid rejected for his services.

Roma are reluctant to part ways with their midfield enforcer but accept their hands are tied with upcoming Financial Fair Play restrictions. Nevertheless, the Giallorossi are still reportedly demanding a fee in the region of £35m.

“He already wanted me when he was the Juve manager, but I’d already said I would never leave Roma for Juve,” Nainggolan is quoted as saying by The Daily Telegraph. “Now he tries to get me to Chelsea.

“They [Hazard and Courtois] have told me to join them. I know Chelsea are a big club, but I have to take several things into account. It’s not easy to leave Italy behind after 12 years. I need to become better because of the transfer. In all ways, I won’t leave for a small difference.”
