Malaga ready to hand Swansea outcast route back to Spain

Malaga are weighing up a January move for Swansea outcast Roque Mesa, according to Diario AS.

Mesa only left Spain to join Swansea over the summer in a deal worth £11m but the Spanish midfielder has endured a nightmare four months in England.

The 28-year-old has only made three Premier League appearances this season and hasn’t featured for Swansea in the league since the end of September.

The former Las Palmas midfielder looks destined to leave the Liberty Stadium and now La Liga strugglers Malaga are eyeing a January move for his services.

Having signed Borja Baston on loan from Swansea in the summer, Malaga hope to lean on their good relationship with Paul Clement’s side in order to prise Mesa back to Spain.

Only Steven N’Zonzi (79.8) and Toni Kroos (71.4) averaged more passes per game in La Liga last season than Mesa (70.8), while he also boasted an impressive success rate of 91.4%.
