Chelsea striker determined to fight for first-team place

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is not looking to leave the club in January and is determined to fight for his place alongside Diego Costa, according to The London Evening Standard.

Batshuayi, 23, only joined Chelsea from Marseille in the summer in a deal worth £33.1m but has struggled for minutes under Antonio Conte so far this season.

There had been suggestions that Chelsea would look to offload the Belgium international in January on a temporary basis, with the likes of AC Milan and Juventus reportedly interested.

However, Batshuayi has no interest in leaving Stamford Bridge and wants to prove to Conte he can start up front either alongside Diego Costa or instead of the Brazilian-born striker.

Despite being used sparingly by Conte so far, Batshuayi has still scored one goal and assisted one in 53 Premier League minutes this season.
