PSG announce signing of midfielder once linked with Man Utd
PSG have confirmed the signing of Portugal international Joao Neves from Portuguese side Benfica.
Neves was previously linked with a move to Manchester United but the French side have today secured the teenager's services as he becomes the club's second summer signing.
"Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the transfer of João Neves. The 19-year-old midfielder has signed a 5-year contract with the club," a statement read on the club's official website.
On his move to PSG, Neves said: "I'm very proud to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a very ambitious Club.
"I'm going to give my all to help my team-mates, to grow at this fantastic Club and to win numerous titles."
PSG's signing of Neves may now pave the way for Manuel Ugarte to leave the club, with the Uruguay international linked with a move to United.
João Neves was the highest rated teenager in the Champions League last season (7.18).
