Real Madrid are closing in on a deal to sign Chelsea star Eden Hazard at the end of the season, claims The Sun.
Hazard has emerged as a top transfer target for Madrid this summer following Zinedine Zidane’s return.
The Chelsea winger will only have 12 months left to run on his existing contract at the end of the season and is unlikely to renew.
Madrid baulked at Chelsea’s £200m asking price for Hazard last summer and will now be able to get the Belgian for half that fee.
Hazard has consistently been one of the best players in the Premier League in recent years but has often admitted playing for Madrid and working under his idol Zidane would be a dream.
Madrid are reportedly even willing to commit a total package, including wages, of £210m to sign Hazard from Chelsea this summer and are confident of pulling off a deal.
Hazard is currently the highest WhoScored rated player in the Premier League (7.73) this season, though Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling is close competition (7.71).
The 28-year-old is the only player to have registered double figures for goals and assists in the Premier League this season (14 goals, 12 assists) and has won the WhoScored Man of the Match award at least four more times than any other player in the division (12).
