Giovani Lo Celso has followed Tanguy Ndombele out of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium exit and joined Spanish side Villarreal for the remainder of the season.
Lo Celso arrived in summer 2019 to huge fanfare as Spurs sought to spend big following their Champions League final defeat to Liverpool in May.
The Argentine joined from Real Betis on loan before the move was made permanent in January 2020 as Spurs looked to replace Christian Eriksen, who departed for Inter in that same window.
However, Lo Celso struggled with injuries during his time at the club and this season has registered just 233 minutes of league action.
"Giovani Lo Celso has joined La Liga side Villarreal on loan for the remainder of the season," a statement read on Tottenham's official website.
"The Argentina midfielder joined us from Real Betis in 2019 and has made 84 appearances in our colours to date, scoring eight goals."
Lo Celso isn't the only Spurs man to depart for Spain, with Bryan Gil, who joined from Sevilla six months ago, moving to Valencia on loan until the end of the season.
