Martial free to leave Man Utd in January

Manchester United are prepared to allow Anthony Martial to leave in January should a suitable offer for the Frenchman come in, reports Eurosport.

The 25-year-old has dropped further down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the high profile return of Cristiano Ronaldo last month.

Indeed, Martial has been restricted to just 98 minutes of Premier League action in 2021/22, with three of his four appearances coming from the bench.

Martial is open to the prospect of remaining in the Premier League, but won't turn down opportunities to feature in one of Europe's top leagues.

However, the France international has a little under three years left to run on his £250,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford, which could deter potential suitors.

United's £40m asking price for Martial may also prove a sticking point as the former Monaco man contemplates his future at the club.

Having struck 17 times in the Premier League in the 2019/20 campaign, Martial has scored just four league goals since the start of last season.
